Gavin loves bathtime!

You can't find another finer looking baby boy than this!?

His first pair of shoes!

Well it was here then gone so quickly....

I can't believe Christmas is already over and it's almost new years eve! Well in a few days I guess! Christmas was really fun this year with Gavin here. We decided to open our gifts on xmas eve so we could take our time with Gavin. So we had dinner at Ron and Pats on xmas eve then came home and opened all our gifts. Gavin got tons of clothes from Santa and mom and dad, I got 2 really amazing purses, and Brian got a really cool watch and jacket. Then on xmas morning we went over to Ron and Pats again for a wonderful breakfast and to open presents. I got a baby book from Gram so we can start recording memories of Gavin's life so far! So it was a wonderful Christmas this year and especially wonderful to share it with Gavin!

Yesterday we loaded up our car(or maybe the whole house) and brought it all over to Ron and Pats for them to watch Gavin for the night while Brian and I went to Napa! We got to visit several vineyards like the olden days, and then stayed at a wonderful hotel in Yountville. We had an amazing dinner followed by a great night of uninterrupted sleep! Well maybe for Brian- I woke up still every 2 hours! I guess I will never sleep well again! We visited a few new vineyards and some that we have been to before. It truly was a great time away with just the two of us! Gavin did well with Grandma and Grandpa and Uncle Patricks help. I think he had a lot of fun!

We are thinking of going up to see the snow over the next few days. I am dying to see all the beautiful powder and have Gavin take his first "dips" in the snow. He can't walk so it will just have to be dips! I really hope that when we come home to Ohio in January there will be snow. I know Pat is not hoping for it but Gavin and I are!

Gavins hair

What a difference a few weeks makes for his hair! The first picture was taken last week and the bottom one was taken probably around 4 weeks! He lost all his hair! But now it's growing back and looks a lot lighter too!

I love to play!!!!

My new playmat!

Santa is coming!!

Sorry to all who have requested more posts, we have been gearing up for Christmas:) Well lets see what's new with Gavin.....he is such a smiling little boy! He has been discovering his personality and we have been fun watching him too! He smiles a lot and coos new words. Yesterday I think he cooed "mama"! Well probably not but it sounded like it! We almost have our shopping done and the tree is filled with presents under it. I have been busy trying to still recover from the delivery.

Mimi and PePaw got Gavin a playground gym mat for Christmas and he loves playing under it! He is discovering his hands and feet and loves to kick. We couldn't wait to open it because he was so bored before and now he is so active! His is growing so much too! At almost 2 weeks ago he weighed almost 10 lbs and I'm sure it's way more now!

Tonight Brian and I are getting out again and going to a Christmas party so Gavin is going to Grandma and Grandpa Moores house for a bit. He is getting to spend some quality time with them these days and looking forward to our trip home to Ohio in a month! He will get to see all his Ohio family and see where Mommy grew up! Including meeting his cousin Faith for the first time! Then next week Brian and I are going to go to Napa for an overnight trip! We are so excited!! After Brians trip to SF last weekend I'm in need of some good rest and I'm so happy because at 3 today he is done with work until January 2nd! Ohhhh I can't wait to have him take a feeding and let me take some naps!

We'll post more as the weekend goes along!

Too Much eggnog!

I love going to Moms group!

Since Gavin was 3 weeks old I have been going every Tuesday to moms group put on by the hospital. It's a great time to get out of the house take Gavin with me and meet other moms and their babies. We discuss what's going on with their infants every week and if there are any concerns or questions that we have then then we discuss them. Gavin is the youngest in the group which is kinda good because I get to see what's to come in the future from the other moms. I love going every week! Yesterday they set up a play group at a moms house just 2 streets away so we went and made ornaments for the tree. It's just good getting out and meeting other girls and seeing their babies. They also set up nights out without the babies and have nights out for dinner and drinks. I'm always up for that!

Last night Gavin did so good with sleeping! He slept from around 10:45 until 2:40 and then from 3 am until 6:45 am! He really listened to me when I said lets sleep all night Gavin!

I got a new toy!!

Yes Gavin got to open up one of his toys from my shower in August. He loves it! We put it in his crib last night and this morning I laid him in it and he was very responsive and even smiling! Today he is 6 weeks old and I can't believe it's been that long since he came into our world. At least I have a while to go until I go back to work.

Brian gets to go to SF and Napa soon and I am so jealous! All his friends are coming into town for a trip to Napa and a 49ers game. That just means that I'm next for an all girls trip! YEAH!!

Date Night!

Well last night Brian and I got to have date night for the first time since Gavin was born! We had a great time and went to dinner at Crush 29 and then met some friends for drinks afterwards. Grandma and Grandpa Moore got to take care of Gavin, hopefully he wasn't too bad for them! Although I'm sure they wouldn't tell us if he did! They gave him a bath, fed him lots of bottles, got some smiles and coos out of him and mostly got to see the cutest little boy alive!

I got a chance yesterday to do a little Christmas shopping and along the way managed to find myself an amazing "mommy bag" at an amazing deal! So I sent Brian a message telling him I just bought myself my xmas present from him! Oh well.

On Thursday Gavin and I got to go over to Amber's house and meet little Reese! She is adorable and perfect! Congrats Amber and Lance on a very cute little girl! Next week we are going to go out and maybe do some shopping with Amber and Reese to get her out of the house and see how exciting it is being a mom and showing off your baby to the outside world! I love all the comments from random people on how cute Gavin is. It's amazing how many people love to come up to you to look at your baby and start conversations!

Gavins growing!

Gavin is doing so well these days! He just smiles and coos and is trying to talk by just opening his mouth really wide. It's the cutest thing! He's growing like crazy and we already put him in size 1 Pampers. They are big on him but we don't want to buy more right now and we have a huge box of them. Yesterday we went to get my hair done and my stylist told me to bring him with me-did she really know what she was getting into?? However, he did really good! I thought he would sleep the whole time but he was awake and happy. Then once the hairdryer came out he took a nap while I got styled. What a big boy!

Today we are going to Ambers house to meet little Reese! She is exactly 3 weeks younger than Gavin. We're going to give Amber some tips on how to take Reese out of the house on her own so she doesn't go insane anymore while her husband is out of town for work. Then after that we are going over to Ron and Pats to visit all Pats bridge friends and show off Gavin. Tomorrow we are giving up Gavin for the first time to grandma and grandpa Moore. We are going out to dinner on our own! Weird! Hopefully it goes well and he doesn't scream the whole time we are gone.

Daddy and Gavin watching the Bengals game!

Aunt Kelly is here!!

Yea Aunt Kelly is here visiting! Gavin was so excited to meet her for the first time after hearing so much about her and his cousin Faith. We have been busy just hanging out, shopping and we even took a trip to Ikea. Gavin got to have a lot of first time experiences yesterday like getting a bottle while taking a ride in the car and his first diaper change in a public place! Well a bathroom that is!

We'll write more later!

Oh I forgot...he smiles on demand now!

Oh I forgot to add that Gavin started smiling when I talk to him in the "mommy happy voice" the other day! It's so exciting because it's when he is wide awake and happy and not when he's falling asleep. I can't wait till the day he starts giggling!

Tummy time!

Well sorry Mimi but we didn't get a chance to post yesterday! It was a busy day. We went to our moms group in the morning and once again had a blast. I love love love going to it because it's other moms talking about their babies and giving good advice. They told me that to calm Gavin down and to get him to sleep longer we have to swaddle him. We did it for the first 2 weeks then he was always kicking out of it and wanted his hands free so we stopped. So we tried it last night and it didn't go so well so we will keep trying. Then after that we went next door to Brian's office to meet the whole office. He was full, had a clean diaper and was in a good mood so we went to show him off! Gavin even got a chance to ask his daddy's boss for a raise so mom doesn't have to go back to work right away! As you can guess in the home building business it didn't work! Even with Gavin's cute pouty face!

Last night we tried Gavin's first tummy time on his mat that Marlena gave him! He was ok for a few minutes but then got a little fussy. So we will try it a couple times everyday and eventually he will like it. Hopefully! Penelope liked it though! It has all kinds of fun toys for her to play with and she kept seeing Gavin's legs moving in his gown so she wanted to play with his feet! It was so cute! She really likes him and lets me know when he is crying. Like I don't know! Percy is getting better with him, she has been sneaking in his room sniffing everything at night when I'm feeding him. She has at least stopped hissing at me and Penelope!

Today we are cleaning up the house and maybe go to the mall to do some shopping. We shall see how he is. Aunt Kelly is coming on Saturday and we are getting excited! So now we have to think of somethings to do when she's here.

Today Gavin is 4 weeks old!

I can't believe it but he is 4 weeks old today! Now I know the meaning of "it goes by so fast" which I hate! Right now we're listening to Christmas music really loud because it calms him down and keeps him awake. Well loud music that is. I think today I am going to finish painting the letters to spell his name and hang on the wall in his room. I need to do anything to keep him awake! He could sleep all day if I let him but I need him to stay awake to space out the feedings at night. Last night he slept from 9:30pm till 2am because he was awake for a few hours before bedtime.

Penelope is crying right now because she wants to go outside but she already lost her privledge this morning by running away from the door where I can watch her. She has a tenancy to run and jump the fence. She is freaking out watching Percy outside with the birdies.

My sister Kelly comes on Saturday to meet Gavin and we are getting so excited! This will be her first time visiting us since we moved to Cali so it should be fun. Also Brian's Aunt and Uncle are visiting from Houston this weekend so we will have one big family weekend.

It might be getting better.

Well Friday we got the tree up and fully decorated yea!! Our whole house looks great. I love Christmas time but just wish that it could snow here so I could really feel the Christmas spirit! Yea I know we could drive just 45 minutes and see tons of snow but it's just not the same because I need to see it snowing here with a fire, some good wine and getting snowed in! I guess I have to hope for snow when we come home in January! Yesterday we went to Target to get Gavin his very first stocking and more Christmas decor. I love my husband because he loves to buy Christmas decor knowing that it makes me soooo happy! So we picked up a few new items to add to our collection.

On Friday night Gavin had some visitors-Mike and Marlena, Jen, Greg, Ginger & Angela. We thought he would act fussy like he has been lately at night but he was really loving all the attention! He was a very happy little boy and stayed up the whole time they were here. We had so much fun and even gave Gavin his very first "dress up fashion show" with Daddys costume collection. Then after a tough time putting him down to sleep for the night he was so nice to Mommy and slept from 11:30 till 4 am!! WOW! Then woke up at 7 am. I was so happy!

Oh what a night.....isn't that a Billy Joel song??

Wow! What a night we had last night! Gavin is either in the beginning stages of Colic or I am crazy and don't know what I'm doing. We went to Ron and Pat's for Thanksgiving and Gavin pretty much slept the whole time, so when 7 pm came around around he was finally waking up. When he woke up he started getting fussy, then crying, then screaming like someone was dying! We got him in the car and blasted the rain cd we have to help soothe him. Finally it worked and he was cool the rest of the way home. Well Brian held him when we got home and he was calm and happy for about an hour until we tried to put him down to bed. The all hell broke loose and he screamed all the way until 12:15 am! I am so not excited if this is going to be how it is for a while. It was the worst night we had with him I think. Even this morning he was still fussy. Oh help me!

Well Brian got up this morning at 4am to go do some holiday shopping! Crazy I know but there were some good deals and Gavin had already woken him up so he went. When I woke up there were presents under the tree for me! So he can go shopping at 4 am any day as far as I'm concerned! Yesterday we gave Gavin a bath and he finally smiled for us! He usually smiles as he's falling asleep but this time he was wide awake and really happy for his bath! He loves his bath time. He could stay in there all day long! I guess those moments make up for nights like last night!
Today we are finishing up putting the decor on the tree and I am going to go do a little shopping without Gavin. We will see how he does for Daddy because normally he needs me to calm him down these days, oh and I guess I am his main source for food huh? Hopefully he won't drive Brian too crazy.

Today is Gavins first Thanksgiving!!

Well today is Gavin's first Thanksgiving and I'm sure that he has no idea of it! We got up this morning and watched the Macy's parade although he slept right through it. I guess he didn't miss much with all the weird Broadway show skits and Dolly Partons boobs bouncing around huh? Later today were are going to Ron and Pats-Brian's parents-house for dinner. Brian's parents, brother and Grandmother will be there to help celebrate the holiday. It will be very good! Yummy....Pats stuffing is so good and she has a new kitchen to cook in!

We had an decent night last night because he was soooo tired from yesterday. He has discovered that Mommy arms is his favorite place and wouldn't let me put him down. He was up all day yesterday so I went and got him a sling to hold him in so I can actually get some stuff done. I think he likes it but we haven't used it much. He didn't like me trying on several of them though! I'm sure I will get the hang of putting him in and out of it.

Brian is busy looking through the ads trying to see what deals are out there for shopping tomorrow. I can't believe that some stores actually open up at 4 am! Who does that?? I will be just going back to bed after my 3:30 feeding with Gavin! I guess we will have to put our Christmas list together soon as people are starting to ask what we want.

Ok Gavin is waking up and that's my cue to stop. Later tonight or tomorrow we are putting up all our Christmas decor and tree. Our friends are coming over tomorrow night to meet Gavin and for dinner! It's going to be a good weekend!
